Beginning January 10, 2017, Oakwood Cemetery will begin its bi-annual cemetery cleanup. Any unauthorized item, such as benches, ornamental items, wind chimes, shepherd hooks, garden stones, borders, bricks, seasonal items and other prohibited objects will be removed. Copies of the cemetery rules and regulations can be obtained at the Cemetery Office during the regular workweek, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.


At Oakwood Cemetery, lives lived are remembered. Whether sculpted in marble or carved in granite, there are many ways to be remembered. For more than one hundred thirty-three years, this non-profit cemetery has become the final resting place for over 36,000 great individuals from Texas Governors, University Presidents, inventors, educators, athletes and veterans from as early as the Civil War through current wars.


Today, there are many available and extremely affordable spaces for sale in this 160 acre beautiful and peaceful cemetery filled with tree-lined streets. You will find some of the most dignified yet least expensive options from cremation inurnment in Oakwood’s Columbarium to burial spaces in all areas.
